Based at Head Office in Lae, where this established company has branches located in most of the country’s major centres you will be responsible for the management of the current 17 stores and approximately 1500 staff including Nationalists and Expatriates. Since establishing itself in 1966, this company has grown to be one of the most significant wholesale and retail distributors in PNG and the South Pacific with existing solid markets in the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Fiji and with future markets in Noumea, Tonga and Samoa. This senior position will report directly through to the board of directors and will be responsible for providing the business with direction, leadership, motivation, development and training to ensure successful financial outcomes and customer satisfaction. You will be currently managing a successful team or can show past work experience in a discount department store or supermarket environment and will be used to achieving significant annual turnover and bottom line results. To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate to us the following skills: • The experience and ability to manage both retail and wholesale businesses either locally or offshore. • The knowledge and expertise in setting strategies, objectives and action plans. • Working experience and knowledge of managing the total supply chain and logistical processes. • That you are capable of working with your team to train and develop them in all aspects of retailing and customer service. • An enthusiastic and positive approach to working with various nationalities and ethnic backgrounds.
